Earl Thomas Will Not Hold Out in 2018 Regardless of Contract Situation
Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider doesn't expect safety Earl Thomas to hold out at any point before the 2018 NFL season, regardless of whether he agrees to a new contract with the team.
According to the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, Schneider made the statement at his charity event Thursday.
Thomas is in the final year of his contract with the Seahawks. He'll earn an $8.5 million base salary and collect $1.9 million of his signing bonus in 2018.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday that Thomas wasn't in attendance for the start of Seattle's offseason program. That led some to wonder whether the three-time All-Pro would sit out more activities.
Thomas told ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco and Brady Henderson in January he was considering a holdout if he didn't get an extension.
"I want to finish my career there," he said. "I definitely don't see myself going out there not signed. ... As far as my future in Seattle, I think if they want me, you know, money talks. We'll get something accomplished. Other than that, I'm just taking it one day at a time."
Coming off a season-ending broken tibia in 2016, Thomas reached his sixth Pro Bowl in 2017. He finished the year with 88 combined tackles and two interceptions.
The fact that the Seahawks didn't include Thomas in the offseason shake-up—cutting Richard Sherman and trading Michael Bennett—would seemingly indicate they envision he'll stay for the long term.
