Francisco Lindor Discusses Hitting 'Extremely Special' HR in Puerto Rico
Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor discussed the importance of hitting a home run in his native Puerto Rico on Tuesday.

According to ESPN.com, Lindor said, "I love the Cleveland Indians fans. I love them. They're supporters, big-time. But this is where I grew up. These are my people. It's extremely special."

Lindor was jubilant while rounding the bases, and he emerged from the dugout for a curtain call after driving in what turned out to be all the runs Cleveland needed.
The 24-year-old explained what was going through his head after the ball cleared the wall:
"There were many emotions in the field. When I hit the ball I didn't think the ball would go away. When I passed the first base is that I see the fans celebrating and when I get to second base I had a better view of where my family is, and then I realize that all the fans were standing, celebrating, they screamed, I screamed, they jumped and jumped with them, and that's the way I have to play, I have always been that way and I will not change."
Lindor also discussed how playing at Hiram Bithorn Stadium was a dream come true: "Actually, my dream was to play at Hiram Bithorn, a stadium that, for many Puerto Ricans, belongs to the major leagues, to play so my parents could see me here, but my dreams didn't go that far."
So far this season, Lindor is hitting .238 with two home runs and seven RBI for the 9-6 Tribe.
He is coming off a career year that saw him hit .273 with 33 homers, 89 RBI, 99 runs scored and 15 stolen bases en route to his second All-Star nod and first Silver Slugger award.
The Indians and Twins will clash once again in San Juan on Wednesday before Cleveland returns to the continental United States for a road meeting with the Baltimore Orioles on Friday.
