Juventus Transfer News: Bianconeri Meet with Filipe Luis Agent in Latest Rumours
Juventus have reportedly met with super agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a possible transfer of Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Marca) Luis is a top candidate to replace Alex Sandro should the latter leave Turin this summer. The 32-year-old could come in as an experienced, instant-impact player in a similar fashion to Dani Alves last season.
Alves joined from Barcelona and played a crucial role in the team's run to the UEFA Champions League final. He left for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017, and the Bianconeri were unable to adequately replace him.

Should Sandro leave as well, Luis could be a cost-effective option on the other side of the pitch. Leonardo Spinazzola will also return from loan, but pairing him with a more experienced option would be ideal.
Luis has been around for a long time, as you can see in the video below:
The Brazilian has just one year left on his contract beyond the current season and has been absent due to injury since the 5-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow in March. Lucas Hernandez has done an admirable job replacing him, and at 22 years old, he could be a better long-term option for the Rojiblancos.
He showcased his incredible speed in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid earlier this month:
Luis has already left Atletico once before―he made a move to Chelsea in 2014 but never settled under manager Jose Mourinho, leading to his return to the Spanish capital a year later.
He rediscovered his best form in Madrid, and another adventure in a different league may not be an appealing prospect at this point. On the other hand, the summer of 2018 could be his last chance to cash in, as his value will only drop as he gets older.
Speed and athleticism are crucial traits for the modern full-back, and those tend to be the first to feel the effects of Father Time. Even Alves, who is now 34-year-old, hasn't been the same this season.
How he returns from injury will be a factor to consider for Juventus, who could opt to sign a younger player with more upside if they do lose Sandro. Luis' struggles at Chelsea and age mean he presents a significant risk, especially if Atletico aren't willing to facilitate an easy move.
