Masters Leaderboard 2018: Updates on Golf's Top Scorers on Sunday

Gianni VerschuerenApr 8, 2018

Patrick Reed leads the way entering the final round of the 2018 Masters, but Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Jon Rahm have plenty of momentum as Sunday's action gets underway.

All three carded rounds of seven under on Saturday to put the pressure on Reed, who has sat at or near the top of the leaderboard since Thursday and has been on fire. He'll face the biggest challenge of his career on Sunday, however, as he chases his first major win.

Bleacher Report's live blog will cover every key shot on Sunday, while the PGA Tour's official website will provide a live leaderboard.

Patrick Reed

The overnight leader has shot three under or better in each of his rounds so far and will become the Masters champion if he can maintain his excellent form.

The 27-year-old has been nearly perfect with his approaches, making the difference on the par-fives, as shared by BBC Sport's Dan Walker:

Reed wasn't perfect on Saturday, but he didn't have to be. With two eagles in three holes―both par-fives―he gave himself a nice buffer on the back nine, as well as some insurance for his putter.

His playing partner for Sunday set a hellish pace on the front nine on Saturday, however, and it remains to be seen whether he can cope with a similar scenario.

Rory McIlroy

That aforementioned partner is McIlroy, who didn't record a single bogey on Saturday and once again showed off some incredible putting form.

The Northern Irishman used his short game to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March and hasn't slowed down since. Given his advantage in experience―he has won every major save the Masters―there will be plenty of punters backing the 28-year-old.

Per Kelly Tilghman of the Golf Channel, he sounded confident after Saturday's action:

The two had a sensational battle at the 2016 Ryder Cup, where Reed came out on top but golf fans were the biggest winners. There's a good chance Sunday's pairing is just as entertaining.

Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler

Behind those two, Fowler and Rahm should also provide a ton of highlights after their great showing on Saturday. Both played faultless rounds of seven-under golf in Round 3, carding a single eagle to move up the leaderboard.

Here's a look at the latest odds heading into the final round, showing a massive drop after the top four contenders:

Rahm has never finished inside the top 20 at a major, while Fowler has finished in the top five at the Masters once. Both will be hoping the players above them slip up early, with most of the heavy scoring coming on the front nine on Saturday.
