Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It marks his fourth team in four seasons.
Hall, 33, spent the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before playing for the New York Giants in 2016 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. He accumulated 15 tackles for the Niners last season, garnering a poor 44.2 grade from Pro Football Focus.
Hall was one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL early in his career, intercepting 18 passes in his first four seasons. He was an Associated Press second-team All-Pro selection in 2009.
The injury bug began biting after the 2010 campaign, however, as Hall missed 23 games over his final five seasons in Cincy and played in just 21 games the past two years.
In Oakland, Gareon Conley and free-agent signee Rashaan Melvin are the likely starters, while Shareece Wright, Dexter McDonald and Antonio Hamilton are available as well.
His signing certainly continues a trend for the Raiders this offseason:
The hope, in Oakland, is that Hall can solidify the nickel position and provide a veteran presence in the locker room to help ease the transition for new head coach Jon Gruden. It won't move the needle like signing Jordy Nelson and Doug Martin did, but it could be an important depth move for Oakland's defense.
The Raiders likely aren't banking on Hall serving as a starter, however, but rather providing depth and experience.
