
Peter King Has Been Told Rob Gronkowski Hasn't Made Decision on NFL Retirement
Rob Gronkowski has apparently not decided he's returning for another NFL season.
Peter King of The MMQB reported the New England Patriots tight end is in "no hurry" to make a decision about his playing future.
Gronkowski, 28, would not commit to playing another season after the Patriots' Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I mean, I’m definitely going to look at my future, for sure, sit down in the next couple weeks, and see where I’m at," Gronkowski told reporters. "... I’m just going to sit down, reflect on the season, and probably talk to my teammates. We fought all year long, all the receivers, running backs, linemen. We put all the work in together, so I’m just going to reflect on the season. Proud of the boys; we’ll see what happens."
Gronkowski recorded 69 receptions for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns last season and remains arguably the NFL's best tight end. He's nonetheless has a career mired by injuries, missing 26 regular-season games over eight seasons. Concussions and back ailments are the most prominent issues for the five-time Pro Bowler.
Gronkowski suffered his latest concussion in the AFC Championship Game win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Patriots will undoubtedly give Gronkowski all the time he needs, but his undecidedness may be rooted in a discomfort with the organization. Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston reported Gronkowski felt "singled out" last season and considered leaving the team during training camp.
The Patriots have had reports of internal discord leak on a semi-regular basis over the last year, and Gronkowski is the latest to have reportedly been unhappy. Still, it would be a major surprise to see Gronkowski walk away from the sport at such a young age—even if the entertainment business likely awaits whenever he does.
