Biggest Missed Opportunities with WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 Booking
WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 featured a combination of smart, savvy decisions combined with serious missteps.
It was somewhat inevitable the company wouldn't tick every box on the road to WrestleMania, but its first real stop on that path featured some big mistakes.
As a result, some of Raw's biggest names have been left in limbo in regard to their WrestleMania plans.
Here's a look at the biggest missed booking opportunities at Elimination Chamber 2018.
Bayley or Sasha Banks Not Turning Heel
1 of 4Bayley and Sasha Banks have been on a collision course to meet at WrestleMania for weeks, if not months, now.
There is no mystery or suspicion over who both women will be feuding with at 'Mania. Fans know it's the two best friends locking horns.
So with that in mind, the best booking option would have been to start this rivalry with a real bang on Sunday night and have either Bayley or Banks pin the other to kick the feud off in explosive fashion.
WWE will inevitably pull the trigger in the coming weeks, having Bayley or Banks turn heel on the other.
But Elimination Chamber, with the title on the line and the stakes so high, would have been the ideal place to do it.
Not Giving More Tag Teams a Chance on the Main Card
2 of 4Raw's tag division is in a state of transition right now, and that was perhaps best summed up by Sunday's tag title match between The Bar and Titus Worldwide.
With Jason Jordan on the shelf, WWE was in a no-win situation in that whichever side it threw into the mix at the last minute, it was always going to be a tough sell.
But the division does have some impressive sides in it, the likes of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson not the least of which. Throw The Revival in the mix too, for that matter.
So with the division needing something a little bit different, perhaps WWE would have been wise to throw multiple sides into the tag title contest on Sunday night.
Not Adding a Gimmick to the Matt Hardy-Bray Wyatt Bout
3 of 4The designated "toilet break" match on Sunday night was definitely Matt Hardy's tussle with Bray Wyatt.
Right now, this feud has to rank as one of the least interesting across both Raw and SmackDown. That's a shame because its potential when it began was extremely high.
Hardy and Wyatt's latest tussle offered neither man the chance to build some momentum going into WrestleMania, even if Matt was the one who ultimately got the win.
But WWE could have at least made fans care more about this contest if some form of stipulation or gimmick had been thrown into the mix.
Have Hardy and Wyatt go to war on one another under No Disqualification rules. Have them both compete to be the last man standing.
Something on top of the standard fare fans received on Sunday would have made it slightly more interesting than it was.
Not Prioritizing Braun Strowman's WrestleMania Plans
4 of 4Look, Roman Reigns was always going to go over and advance to the Universal Championship picture at WrestleMania on Sunday night, wasn't he?
Despite fans holding out hope there may be a late change and Braun Strowman might get a reprieve and be the one to earn a title shot, it ultimately wasn't to be.
Reigns was always going to win. But WWE missed a step in not putting Strowman's booking high up on its priority list.
Fans should have had a clear idea what Strowman had on the agenda for WrestleMania following Sunday night. Beating every other man in the match did give him a fair few options but nothing conclusive or high-profile enough to justify the run of form Strowman has been on lately.
Hopefully his stock doesn't fall too much over the coming weeks, because Strowman is still a ready-made world champion. WWE can't afford to mishandle his booking too many times, though.
