Kyrie Irving announced Monday that his Uncle Drew film will be released on June 29.
The Boston Celtics point guard promoted the movie on Instagram with a poster of him as the titular character, which was first introduced in a Pepsi ad campaign.
Last September, Irving posed in costume along with co-stars Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Lisa Leslie, Nate Robinson, Lil Rel Howery and Erica Ash. Nick Kroll will also star as a rival for Howery's Dax, who recruits Uncle Drew for a street ball tournament.
The movie's official Twitter page offered an early look at the major characters. Girls Trip's Tiffany Haddish adds to an already stacked cast.
This year's NBA Finals will run from May 31 to June 17 at the latest, so Irving already may have reason to celebrate before making his big-screen debut.
