Jalen Brunson Responds to Rumor About Former Villanova Teammate Handling Knick Players' Finances

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson provided some clarity regarding his financial involvement with an old college teammate on Saturday.

Brunson responded to a rumor that himself, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges had become Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management clients to reunite with former Villanova teammate Matt Kennedy as their financial advisor on social media.

"Matt is my guy but I need your sources," Brunson wrote in a post on X.

Kennedy previously played basketball at Villanova for two seasons from 2016-18, spending time as teammates with Brunson, Hart and Bridges.

He also won a national championship alongside Brunson and Bridges in 2018.

Since Brunson became a member of the Knicks during the 2022 offseason, he's played with several former Wildcats teammates including Hart, Bridges, Donte DiVincenzo and Ryan Arcidiacono.

While DiVincenzo and Arcidiacono weren't members of last season's roster, the other Villanova alumni played key roles during New York's championship run.

Hart showcased his all-around impact in the playoffs by averaging 10.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game as Bridges recorded 13.5 points per game on 55.9/36.5/92.0 shooting splits.

Brunson led the NBA in playoff scoring by averaging 28.4 points per game, winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP before taking home Finals MVP honors after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in five games.
