Thomas Davis Suspended 2 Games for Hit on Davante Adams, Will Appeal
Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis has been suspended two games by the NFL for his illegal hit on Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer noted Davis will appeal his suspension.
With just two weeks remaining before the playoffs, the linebacker might have played his last game of the 2017 regular season.

The play in question came during Sunday's game, when Davis blocked Adams during an interception return. The receiver was completely blindsided by the helmet-to-helmet hit, leading to a concussion that forced him out of the game.
Adams complained about the situation on Twitter, which was followed by an apology from Davis:
Earlier this month, Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was suspended one game for a similar helmet-to-helmet block against Vontaze Burfict. However, the NFL appears to have changed the precedent by handing a larger suspension to Davis.
With the Panthers battling for an NFC South division title, losing a two-time Pro Bowl player like Davis could be extremely damaging. Carolina hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday before closing the year on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
