Jordan Reed Had Surgery on Toes; Expected to Return from Injury by Training Camp
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed underwent an offseason toe procedure, and the team is hoping to have him healthy in time for the start of training camp.
Speaking to reporters at the NFL's owners meetings in Orlando, Florida, last month, head coach Jay Gruden confirmed Reed had a procedure to address the toe injury that limited him to six games a year ago, according to ESPN.com's John Keim.
Reed, 27, debuted in 2013 and has never suited up for a full 16 games due to a variety of maladies, including several concussions. Last season, he managed 27 receptions for 211 yards and two scores.

In his absence, No. 2 tight end Vernon Davis proved steady with 43 receptions for 648 yards and three touchdowns.
Gruden and Co. will need Reed—who is arguably Washington's most dynamic pass-catcher when healthy—to be at full strength in order to give quarterback Alex Smith a full complement of weapons entering his first year under center in the nation's capital.
