Twins' Byron Buxton Placed on 10-Day DL with Migraines; Ryan LaMarre Recalled
Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton has been placed on the disabled list because of migraines.
The team announced the move on Wednesday, calling up outfielder Ryan LaMarre in a corresponding roster move.
Following a shaky 2016 season, Buxton came alive in 2017 when he hit .253/.314/.413 with career highs of 16 home runs and 51 RBI. Those marks were bolstered by a sterling post-All-Star performance, when the 24-year-old slashed .300/.347/.546 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI.

Buxton also cemented himself as one of MLB's premier defensive outfielders by tallying 24 defensive runs saved, a mark that ranked third overall among all players behind Los Angeles Angeles shortstop Andrelton Simmons (32) and Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts (31), according to FanGraphs.
Now 11 games into the 2018 season, Buxton is slashing .195/.233/.244 with two doubles, four stolen bases and two RBI.
Buxton's ability to cover ground isn't easily replaced by many players in MLB, much less anyone on the Twins, so losing him for any sort of extended stretch will be a tough pill to swallow.
In the meantime, manager Paul Molitor will have to contemplate shuffling some pieces around with Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler options to slide over to center from their usual posts in the corners.
