Jeff Teague Ruled Out vs. Nuggets with Apparent Knee Injury
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague is hobbled after suffering an apparent knee injury during Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets.
Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reported the news.
Put simply, Teague has never been one to miss significant time because of injuries.
Dating back to his debut in 2009, Teague hasn't appeared in fewer than 70 games over the course of a non-lockout season.
Last year with the Indiana Pacers, the 29-year-old averaged 15.3 points, a career-high 7.8 assists and 1.2 steals on 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 35.7 percent shooting from three while appearing in all 82 games.
Now in his first season with the Timberwolves after inking a three-year, $57 million deal in July, Teague is averaging 13.4 points and 7.2 dimes while shooting 44.8 percent from the floor, including 37.6 percent from distance.
With the Timberwolves shorthanded in the backcourt, head coach Tom Thibodeau will likely deploy Tyus Jones as his starting point guard until Teague is back at full strength.
