Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus rated the 27-year-old USC product as the No. 72-ranked player in the NFL thanks in part to his 51 quarterback pressures.
The California native has also been highly durable throughout his time with the Titans, who selected him in the third round of the 2011 draft. He's played in 94 of a possible 96 regular-season games.
Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website passed along comments from general manager Jon Robinson about why the front office decided to lock Casey up with a new deal now.
"It is rare to do a contract extension early in this business," he said. "But Jurrell is a unique player in that he was drafted here, has already done an extension with the team, is a standout in our community, and has earned multiple Pro Bowl invitations. We are happy to have him as a Titan for many years to come."
Casey should line up opposite DaQuan Jones with Sylvester Williams or Austin Johnson manning the middle in Tennessee's three-man defensive line. The front seven as a whole will be looking to build off a year where it finished tied for sixth in the NFL with 40 sacks.
