TMZ acquired a video of the initial arrest, which featured an intense standoff with the police while Washington held a gun on his lap. The officer told him in the car afterward that "99 percent of the time" he would have been shot.
Despite the charges, his attorney Clyde Bennett recommended a plea of not guilty.
"I don't believe that Mr. Washington committed any crimes," Bennett said, via Rodak. "That is why we have filed a motion to dismiss. Our intent and plan is to have the charges against him dismissed."
The Bills said they were aware of the incident in July but wouldn't comment on the "pending legal matter," per Scooby Axson of Sports Illustrated.
Washington was a third-round pick in the 2016 draft and played a big role as a rookie, appearing in 15 games and starting 11.
