While players showcase their competitive spirits once they are on the floor, the coaching staffs likely care more about the development of their young players than wins and losses. The league's future stars have been on display throughout their time in Vegas, and that continued Tuesday.

Following along to see how everything played out in Day 5.

Tuesday Summer League Results

San Antonio Spurs 99, Portland Trail Blazers 85

Memphis Grizzlies 84, Utah Jazz 81

Chicago Bulls 82, Washington Wizards 73

Boston Celtics 88, Philadelphia 76ers 83

Dallas Mavericks 78, Miami Heat 73

Minnesota Timberwolves 78, Golden State Warriors 76

San Antonio Spurs 99, Portland Trail Blazers 85

Bryn Forbes knocked down six threes on his way to a 35-point breakout, leading the Spurs to a 99-85 win over the Blazers.

Forbes, a former undrafted free agent who latched on with the Spurs last season, made scoring his very clear goal from the outset. He jacked up 26 shots (making 11), including 11 from three-point range, as he created for himself and bounced off screens throughout.

Olivier Hanlan added 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, as part of a strong output from the Spurs backcourt. Cory Jefferson (13 points) and Shayne Whittington (10 points, seven rebounds) were also in double figures.

Blazers first-round pick Caleb Swanigan finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds in a strong effort. Former Houston Rockets guard Nick Johnson (10 points) was the only other Blazers player in double figures.

The Spurs' win moves them to 2-1, while the Blazers are 1-2.

Memphis Grizzlies 84, Utah Jazz 81

Dillon Brooks scored 24 points off the bench as one of three Grizzlies in double figures, as Memphis held on for an 84-81 win over the Jazz despite a brilliant game from Donovan Mitchell.

The Louisville product scorched Memphis for 37 points and recorded eight steals, taking over the game at points for stretches of two-way brilliance. Mitchell was the only Jazz player with double-digit shot attempts (he shot 24 times) and got to the free-throw line 16 times.

Eric Griffin (12 points) was the only other Jazz player in double figures. Utah shot 35.7 percent as a team and hit just five of its 28 free throws.

Wayne Selden (17 points, six rebounds) and Wade Baldwin IV (15 points, six rebounds, five assists) were also in double figures for the Grizzlies.

Brooks, a second-round pick who was sent to Memphis in a draft night trade, put together his most impressive performance in Vegas thus far. He knocked down nine of his 11 shots, including four from distance, and added six rebounds.

The Grizzlies remain undefeated at 3-0, while Memphis sits at 0-3.

Chicago Bulls 82, Washington Wizards 73

Antonio Blakeney scored 23 points and Lauri Markkanen had a double-double, as the Bulls got their first win in Las Vegas with an 82-73 victory over the Wizards.

Blakeney and Markkanen combined for eight of Chicago's 14 threes. Blakeney, a former LSU standout who went undrafted in June, has come out gunning in hopes of earning a contract or training camp invite. His 9-of-17 shooting performance will also help prove to teams he can be efficient.

Markkanen, who has taken some criticism for his early struggles, finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. While he still went just 6-of-17 from the field, his four threes will help assuage concerns about his poor shooting from deep in the first two games.

Denzel Valentine also added 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Washington, which dropped to 0-3, was led by a 20-point outing from Sheldon McClellan. Marcus Keene (13 points) was the only other Wizards player in double digits.

Boston Celtics 88, Philadelphia 76ers 83

Jayson Tatum's strong summer league performance continued Tuesday, as he scored 15 points as one of four Celtics in double figures in their 88-83 win over the Sixers.

Tatum had his worst shooting performance in Vegas, missing nine of his 15 shots, but he has been in double digits all three games. The No. 3 overall pick has at the very least made some Celtics fans a little happier about their decision to trade back from the first selection.

Jabari Bird (15 points), Demetrius Jackson (14 points) and Ante Zizic (12 points) were also in double figures. Zizic was borderline unstoppable for stretches inside, making five of his seven shots and grabbing 13 rebounds in 17 minutes.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot led the Sixers with 16 points. Jonah Bolden and Melo Trimble had 13 points apiece.

The Sixers were playing their second game without Markelle Fultz, who continues to sit with an ankle sprain.

Dallas Mavericks 78, Miami Heat 73

While it's been Dennis Smith Jr. playing the starring role for the Mavericks in this summer league session, Yogi Ferrell took over Tuesday. Ferrell scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Mavericks to a 78-73 win over the Heat.

The Indiana product pierced the Miami defense off the dribble, getting to the rim and forcing contact. He finished with a game-high 12 free throws (making 10) and was 6-of-14 from the field.

Smith also had a strong 16-point, five-assist outing. He got to the line 10 times, as the Dallas backcourt combined for 22 of the Mavs' 30 free-throw attempts.

Gian Clavell led all Heat scorers with 18 points off the bench, knocking down four threes along the way. Okaro White added 17 points and 11 rebounds.

First-round pick Bam Adebayo had a solid 13-point, nine-rebound effort. Adebayo frustrated the Mavericks inside and got to the line nine times.

Minnesota Timberwolves 78, Golden State Warriors 76

C.J. Williams scored a running jumper in sudden death double overtime to give the Timberwolves a 78-76 win over the Warriors.

Williams, who finished with 14 points, was one of five Minnesota players in double figures. Matt Costello matched Williams' team high with 14 points, while Perry Ellis (13 points), Marcus Paige (13 points) and Charles Cooke (11 points) were also in double figures.

Costello added 15 rebounds and played a team-high 34 minutes.

Golden State's effort was led by a game-high 20 points from Patrick McCaw and 16 points from Bryce Alford. McCaw has seemed a bit overqualified to be playing in summer league after being an important part of the Warriors' championship-winning bench.

Jordan Bell continued to make the Warriors look genius for adding him in the second round. The Oregon product had five points, 11 rebounds, five steals and six blocks. Golden State outscored Minnesota by 27 points when he was on the floor.
