Mike Miller Waived by Nuggets After 2 Seasons with Team
The Denver Nuggets announced Tuesday that they have waived veteran swingman Mike Miller.
If the Nuggets didn't part ways with Miller before Wednesday, his $3.5 million salary for the 2017-18 season would have become fully guaranteed.
Miller, 37, spent the last two seasons in Denver. During that stretch, he averaged 1.4 points in 67 appearances.

As those numbers indicate, Miller didn't spend much time on the floor over the last two years.
However, he did emerge as a veteran leader for a young team that was seeking a quality role model for young wings Gary Harris and Jamal Murray.
"Mike Miller has been tremendous," Nuggets head coach Mike Malone told the team's official website in April 2016. "I just can't speak enough about his work ethic, his example that he sets every day. I don't think you can have enough guys like that."
Miller will now have to decide whether he wants to call it quits after 17 NBA seasons or pursue one last mentorship gig on the back end of a bench.
Should he retire, Miller figures to be on the fast track for a spot on a coaching staff at some level. In fact, he admitted in June during an interview on Altitude Sports Radio (h/t NBA.com) that he's been set up for success in that field if he chases it.
"I haven't decided yet," Miller said of coaching. "I said this a lot, I've been fortunate enough to play for a lot of great coaches. Some of the best. Including Coach Malone there in Denver. I've been able to learn a lot from those guys and if it is a path, I think it would be a great start because of what I've been able to learn from all of the coaches I've played for."
