Quick-Step Floor's Marcel Kittel won Stage 10 of the 2017 Tour de France after surging ahead amid a late bunch sprint at Bergerac on Tuesday. Kittel finished ahead of Trek-Segafredo rider John Degenkolb to earn his fourth stage win at this year's Tour.

Meanwhile, Team Sky's Chris Froome kept the yellow jersey.

ITV Cycling provided the results and times from the stage:

Fortuneo-Vital Concept rider Elie Gesbert and Wanty-Groupe Gobert's Yoann Offredo broke away and opened up a healthy lead entering the final 50 kilometres, per Le Tour de France UK:

The break maintained its lead over the peloton with around 26 kilometres to go. However, the advantage was a slender 40 seconds.

Gesbert and Offredo's gap was back up to just shy of a minute with 21 kilometres left. Even so, the peloton appeared determined to bring in the breakaway, cutting the gap back to 30 seconds as the final 15 kilometres began.

Kittel's Quick-Step Floors team-mate Julien Vermote was applying the most pressure, but Offredo and Gesbert were still closing in on Bergerac and the end of the stage. Also in the Peloton, Team Sky and yellow jersey wearer Froome were making moves near the front and keeping the break firmly in sight.

The moves in the Peloton reduced the escapees' lead further as the riders entered the final 10 kilometres, per ITV Cycling:

Sprint trains started to form as various teams planned and timed their final dashes. Among them, Team Sky made their move, per the team's official Twitter account:

The process also saw the breakaway finally absorbed with just 7 kilometres to go. Lotto Soudal's Lars Bak had moved to the front, but Kittel was staying in touch.

Kittel did more than stay in touch over the final kilometre, though, winning with room to spare in the end to confirm a 13th stage win during his history at the Tour.
