NBA Summer League 2017: Dates, Times, TV Schedule, Live Stream and More
The NBA Summer League is more about development than wins and losses.
But sometimes the outcome can tell us a lot.
Though the Philadelphia 76ers squad came up short on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz, 100-94, No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz nearly single-handedly turned a 24-point deficit into a one-point game with 11.8 seconds remaining.
The Washington Huskies product finished with a team-high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 from deep. He added five assists, five rebounds and six turnovers.
Translation: He looked the part for a top pick.

Star of the summer: Bam Adebayo

Miami Heat forward Bam Adebayo has been an absolute force on both ends this summer.
In Monday’s 86-83 loss to the Pacers, the former Kentucky Wildcat swiped a pass, took two dribbles and scooped in a Eurostep bucket on the other end:

He looked like Giannis Antetokounmpo out there.
Bam finished the contest with 29 points and 11 rebounds, pushing his three-game averages to 19.0 points, 10.0 boards, 2.3 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.3 assists while shooting 40.9 percent from the field.

Miami took the 19-year-old with the No. 14 pick in this year’s draft, which raised some eyebrows. Now, it’s looking like a steal.
SB Nation’s Dragonfly Jonez thinks the 6’10” athletic phenom has star power on name value alone:
"Pat and them said they were going to let me not be in a box," Adebayo told NBA.com’s Fran Blinebury this week. "In summer league, I'm playing free. I’m having fun. If I keep doing that, I might get touches in the real game. If I can do good with the real touches, I might be one of those (regular rotation) guys."
Kentucky coach John Calipari joked that he was holding Adebayo back after his impressive showing this summer:
Bam is still raw, and it’s unfair to expect this from him come fall. The Summer League is competitive, but nothing compares to matching up against the best players in the world. Still, Miami should be pleased with its pick.
