Alex Wood Becomes 5th SP in Dodgers History to Start Season 10-0
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood became the fifth pitcher in franchise history to start a season 10-0 after getting the win in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium, according to SportsCenter.
Wood gave up three hits and struck out 10 batters over seven innings of scoreless work before ceding to the bullpen. He's the first Dodgers starter since Don Newcombe in 1955 to reach the 10-0 mark.
Pedro Baez and Kenley Jansen closed things out in the last two innings.

Report: MLB Vet Unretires After 1 Day
After starting the 2017 season in the bullpen, Wood has emerged as the Dodgers' breakout star in their rotation. He's given up one run or less in nine of his last 11 starts, and the Dodgers have won their last 10 games where Wood has pitched.
While he was a bit of a surprise to be left off the NL All-Star team, it's possible Wood will wind up replacing teammate Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers ace will start Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals, making him ineligible to pitch in the Midsummer Classic.
"Clayton is a no-brainer. Kenley is a no-brainer. Corey? No brainer," manager Dave Roberts told reporters of his team's All-Star slights. "Cody, with what he's done, I got as a no-brainer. JT, hitting .390 with a 1.000 OPS ... being one of the best players on the best team in the National League, I've got him as a no-brainer. And Alex Woodโ9-0 with a 1.80โno-brainer.
"Yeah, I think the best team in the National League should be represented with the most All-Stars."
At the very least, Wood will have to simply settle for being this season's Rich Hillโa former bullpen guy who broke out to become a star.
