The 4-star safety is the No. 15 player in the 2018 class at the position and No. 139 overall, according to Scout.
He initially made a verbal commitment to play for the Gators in March.
The 6'3", 190-pound player has great size for a safety, and he knows how to use it to his advantage. He has a knack for forcing turnovers and making game-changing plays in the defensive backfield.
Although he could stand to add more strength to his frame, he has a chance to be an impact player down the line.
The West Palm Beach native initially decided to stay close to home with his commitment to Florida, also noting that the school is "great education-wise," per Ryan Bartow of 247Sports.
However, Cam Smith of USA Today correctly predicted this recruitment was far from over with Alabama, Michigan and LSU all targeting the high-upside player.
With plenty of scholarship offers from SEC, Big 12, ACC and Big Ten teams, Smith will have options as he decides on a new destination.
