
Jayson Tatum Hits Game-Winner in Summer League Debut vs. Markelle Fultz, 76ers
If Jayson Tatum's Summer League debut was an indication of what's to come, the Boston Celtics made the right choice with the No. 3 pick in the 2017 NBA draft.
The Duke product drilled the game-winning jumper to give his Celtics an 89-88 victory over No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz and the Philadelphia 76ers in Monday's contest:

Fultz didn't have Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons to provide support, but Tatum had 2016-17 Second Team All-Rookie member Jaylen Brown. Brown notched a double-double with 29 points and 13 rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and helped Tatum carry the Celtics to victory.
While Brown was the best player on the floor for extended stretches, the showdown between the rookies was the primary storyline entering the contest. That was especially the case since Boston forfeited the chance to draft Fultz No. 1 overall when it traded down with the Sixers.
Tatum earned initial bragging rights with the game-winner, and he also awed the crowd with his sky-walking abilities on a monster jam in the second quarter:
He stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists, although Fultz impressed at times as well with 17 points and three blocks—one of which turned heads:
While it is too early to draw significant conclusions based on one game, don't be surprised if the Rookie of the Year race goes through the Atlantic Division.
