Kenley Jansen Rips Dodgers Fans for Lack of Starters in NL All-Star Game Lineup
The Los Angeles Dodgers had four selections when the 2017 All-Star Game rosters were announced Sunday during ESPN's All-Star Selection Show, but none of them were starters.
Closer Kenley Jansen blamed his own team's fans for the lack of starters, per ESPN.com news services: "I'll say it loud and clear again: It's the Dodger fans' fault."
Jansen was one of the four Dodgers named to the game, along with pitcher Clayton Kershaw, outfielder Cody Bellinger and shortstop Corey Seager.

According to ESPN.com, Jansen was particularly bothered Seager wasn't named a starter and third baseman Justin Turner didn't even make the team. Seager lost to Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart in the fan vote, but the closer went as far as to criticize last year's voting when Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell got the nod over Seager.
"We should have voted for those two guys," Jansen said of the two Dodgers infielders. "They deserved to be the starters."
Dodgers supporters can redeem themselves in Jansen's eyes with the final fan vote.
Fans have the opportunity to choose the last All-Star for each league among five candidates, and Turner is up against Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, Washington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon and Colorado Rockies first baseman Mark Reynolds.
Turner, who has never made an All-Star Game in his career, is slashing .382/.472/.557 with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 59 games, while Seager is slashing .305/.404/.520 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI in 76 games.
