
De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk to Visit 76ers Before 2017 NBA Draft
The Philadelphia 76ers, who own the No. 3 overall pick in next week's NBA draft, announced Tuesday they will host former Kentucky Wildcats sharpshooter Malik Monk for a pre-draft workout at the team's training complex on Thursday.
Former Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox is also slated make a visit to the City of Brotherly Love before week's end. Citing a league source, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey reported Fox will work out for the Sixers this weekend, with the meeting tentatively scheduled for Saturday.
Fox and Monk will represent the first two big workouts for the Sixers, but more could be on the way.
While nothing has been confirmed to this point, former Kansas Jayhawks wing Josh Jackson and ex-UCLA floor general Lonzo Ball have been connected to the Sixers at various points throughout the pre-draft process.
According to Calkins Media's Tom Moore, Jackson's agent, B.J. Armstrong, said he expects his client to work out for the Sixers. However, a formal date has yet to be set.
As for Ball, ESPN.com's Chris Haynes reported May 26 his camp was pondering a workout with the Sixers. Citing league sources, Haynes noted the workout would be contingent upon Ball's agent, Harrison Gaines, having "an extensive conversation about the identity of the team" with general manager Bryan Colangelo.
In his most recent mock draft, Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman projected Ball to the Sixers at No. 3, with Jackson coming off the board one pick earlier to the Los Angeles Lakers.
