Cleveland Cavaliers guard JR Smith didn't appear to be giving up hope even though his team trails the Golden State Warriors 3-0 in the NBA Finals following Wednesday's 118-113 loss.

Smith seemed to tweet his belief the Cavaliers will overcome the 3-0 deficit a year after coming back from 3-1 hole against Golden State. While the tweet was quickly deleted, ESPN shared a screenshot:

"I got out of the shower and my phone was buzzing. I did not tweet that," Smith told Cleveland.com, via ESPN.com, after his postgame locker room interview session. "I'm smarter than that."

If Cleveland takes the cliched one-game-at-a-time approach into Friday's Game 4 at home, it can pull within 3-1 against the mighty Warriors. The 3-1 memories would come flooding back, and at least the Cavaliers could draw confidence knowing they won a Game 5 and 7 at Oracle Arena on the same stage last season.

As for Smith, he should be personally confident after he was the only Cavaliers role player who provided consistent scoring help for LeBron James (39 points) and Kyrie Irving (38 points).

He finished with 16 points and five three-pointers, one of which put Cleveland ahead by six with 3:09 to go. However, Golden State responded by scoring the final 11 points of the game, making the lack of production from Kevin Love (1-of-9 from the field), Tristan Thompson (zero points and three rebounds), and Deron Williams, Iman Shumpert and Deron Williams (three combined points) stand out more.
