Draymond Green Fires Back at Reporter After Question About Self-Restraint
The Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 in the 2017 NBA Finals after blitzing the Cleveland Cavaliers in Sunday night's Game 2, 132-113. Unlike last year, Draymond Green's antics have yet to emerge as a major storyline.
When asked about his toned-down attitude after Sunday's win, Green fired back.
"You act like I'm just this troubled guy who can't control myself," the All-Star forward said, per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated. "Jesus Christ."
After the initial response, Green did explain his change in attitude, via Sports Illustrated:
"Going over the edge isn't going to win me a championship," he explained. "I think I'm a pretty smart guy and I learned my lesson. I went over the edge before. Fool me once, you can't fool me twice."
The forward was suspended for Game 5 of last year's NBA Finals for hitting LeBron James in the groin, an event many consider the turning point of the series.
These types of events aren't anything new for the emotional player, who had a career-high 14 technical fouls this season with two disqualifications and one ejection. He has two technical fouls so far in the postseason.
Green has made only positive contributions through two games this round, averaging 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two wins.
