Steve Kerr Reportedly Not Ruled Out for Game 2 vs. Cavaliers
The Golden State Warriors have reportedly not ruled out the possibility that head coach Steve Kerr may return to the sidelines for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
According to ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne and Chris Haynes, there is internal optimism regarding Kerr's return.
A source close to the situation told ESPN's Marc J. Spears: "He may coach Sunday. He's feeling better."
Kerr has been out since Game 3 of the Warriors' first-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Per ABC News, Kerr has been dealing with symptoms related to back surgery he underwent two years ago.
During the 2015-16 regular season, Kerr sat out 43 games while recovering from back issues.
Mike Brown has acted as the head coach in Kerr's absence during this postseason, and he is a perfect 11-0.
The Dubs are 13-0 overall in the playoffs, including Thursday's 113-91 win over the Cavs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Kerr's .841 regular-season winning percentage is the best in NBA history, and his playoff winning percentage of .759 is second only to Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue.
