LeBron James' Posterizing Dunk on JaVale McGee Causes Twitter to Explode

Scott PolacekJun 1, 2017

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James wasted little time reminding Golden State Warriors big man JaVale McGee who the defending champions are during the first quarter of Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

James threw down a monster slam over McGee, giving the Cavaliers temporary momentum in the back-and-forth first quarter.

Naturally, social media reacted to the head-turning play:

Black Sports Online found a silver lining from McGee's perspective:

Robby Kalland of Uproxx Sports placed the blame on Kevin Durant:

Here's the best of the rest:

While James impressed with his slam, McGee got the last laugh as his Warriors cruised to a commanding 113-91 victory at Oracle Arena. McGee finished with four points, five rebounds and a block, although he was victimized when going for another swat on this dunk.

The dunk marked two of James' 28 points, but he also turned the ball over eight times. He and the Cavaliers as whole (20 turnovers) will need to clean up the sloppy play during Sunday's Game 2 if they want to earn a split in Golden State.
