Superstar Shake-Up, Braun Strowman and Top WWE News from Week of April 15

WWE WrestleMania season is officially behind us, but that doesn't mean any less is going on in the world of pro wrestling. Let's take a look at some of the biggest stories from the past week.

Kane Running for Office

Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, has teased the idea of running for public office for a long time, and he finally pulled the trigger when he recently announced he was running for Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

The Big Red Machine isn't the first pro wrestler to throw his hat into the political ring. Jesse Ventura became Governor of Minnesota in 1998.

Rhyno, Jerry Lawler and Bob Backlund have also ran political campaigns, but they all came up short at the polls.

Jacobs has already released his first political ad announcing his candidacy to explain why he decided to run for office.

WWE Says Roman Reigns Was Injured on Raw

According to James Wortman of WWE.com, Roman Reigns suffered a separated shoulder from Braun Strowman's brutal attack on Monday.

In one of the wildest segments WWE has filmed, The Monster Among Men threw Reigns all over the backstage area, pushed him off a loading dock on a stretcher and turned over an ambulance with him inside.

WWE has used injuries as part of a storyline before, and since half the segment was filmed using camera tricks and editing, Reigns might not be injured.

Following his win over The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, Reigns was greeted with 10 minutes of loud boos before proclaiming WWE was his yard the following night on Raw.

Having Reigns take some time off is smart, especially if the plan is for him to return and challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship down the line.

Braun Strowman Has Hilarious Response to Petition

Speaking of Strowman, a fan has started a petition to have him fired on Change.org in response to his violent display on Raw.

Strowman responded via Twitter with what might be the funniest thing he has ever said:

Unless the person who started the petition still thinks wrestling is real, this is clearly a joke. The organizer, Jennifer Kuchler, updated the page saying it was being taken down soon.

Strowman has gained a lot of fans in recent months, and showing a sense of humor is a great way to make even more people become supporters. With any luck, "your tears hydrate me" will become his new catchphrase.

Renee Young and Dean Ambrose Are Married

Many fans were quick to point out wedding rings on the fingers of Dean Ambrose and Renee Young this week, so the Talking Smack host had no choice by to reveal she and The Lunatic Fringe are married.

Young and Ambrose have been together for a couple of years, but WWE only recently began acknowledging their relationship on television.

It started during an interview with The Miz. He was being asked about Ambrose challenging him for the intercontinental title when he made the comments about their status as a couple.

Young has mentioned the relationship a few times since, but WWE hasn't made a big deal out of it like it has for other couples, which is probably best for their characters.

With both of them appearing regularly on Total Divas, it's possible we will get to see their nuptials at some point in the future. Congrats to Young and Ambrose.
