Kevin Durant Officially Expected to Return from Leg Injury Saturday vs. Pelicans
Kevin Durant will be able to take in some game action before the regular season ends, as the Golden State Warriors star is expected to play Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Warriors announced on Twitter that Durant has been cleared to return and will play Saturday, barring any setbacks:
Durant has not played since February 28 when he suffered a sprained MCL and bone bruise in his left leg when Zaza Pachulia accidentally fell into him in the first quarter of a game against the Washington Wizards.
The Warriors announced Durant would be out indefinitely and re-evaluated after four weeks. He began shooting around in practice on March 18, but there was no official word from the team about a return at the time.
After clinching the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference after Wednesday's win over the Phoenix Suns, the Warriors have three games left in the regular season. It's unclear how many minutes Durant will play upon his return against the Pelicans.
