WWE WrestleMania 2017 Results: Matches That Lived Up to the Hype
As is the case with any WrestleMania, the matches that make up the event's card come with a certain hype other bouts are not afforded.
The matches that take place at The Showcase of the Immortals are traditionally accompanied by lengthy video packages and a level of anticipation from the fanbase that far exceed other B-level pay-per-views such as Payback and Backlash.
This year's show was no different.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
With five matches that legitimately could have headlined the extravaganza, Sunday's card featured more hype than usual.
As is the case with any match, though, living up to that hype is rarely possible in every instance. With 13 matches making up the card, only a few of the contests were able to pay off months of storytelling in satisfying fashion.
These are the WrestleMania 33 matches that lived up to the hype.
Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar
The Universal Championship match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar may only have been four minutes in length, but it was a battle of heavyweights that captivated the audience with high-impact maneuvers.
More importantly, it never overstayed its welcome.
Considering the limitations of both men, the match was brilliantly laid out. Like two prizefighters, they threw their best stuff at each other until one man could not answer the count. That man was Goldberg, who saw his storybook return turn into a nightmare courtesy of The Beast Incarnate.
A match that accomplished exactly what it set out to, it paid of Lesnar's redemption story in grand fashion and returned the former UFC heavyweight champion to the top of the industry that made him a star.
Seth Rollins vs. Triple H
The battle between The Kingslayer and The King of Kings was three years in the making. The authority figure and his former protege had been building toward their encounter at The Show of Shows from the moment Triple H planted Rollins with a Pedigree and ended their relationship.
With an excess of time and energy devoted to their program and considerable hype behind it, The Game and The Architect took to the squared circle for one of the higher profile matches on Sunday's card. What started somewhat slow built to a climactic conclusion that saw Rollins superkick Triple H into Stephanie McMahon, who took a shocking table bump.
From there, the student pinned the teacher, using his own Pedigree finisher against him.
While it never touted a frenetic pace, the match built to a beautiful crescendo that created genuine excitement to see what comes next for Rollins now that his issues with Triple H have come to an end.
Austin Aries vs. Neville
Austin Aries and Neville featured a dynamic build that saw the former lash out against the self-proclaimed King of the Cruiserweights. Upon returning to the squared circle, he sought to dethrone the cruiserweight champion and take his place atop the division.
Sunday night, Aries nearly did just that. Unfortunately for him, underhanded methods from Neville secured his title. The Man That Gravity Forgot raked the eyes of Aries, exploiting his recently healed orbital socket. From there, he delivered The Red Arrow and scored the pinfall victory in the opening match of the WrestleMania festivities.
While the match may not have received the attention of others, it built considerable support among WWE fans. Their anticipation and excitement were paid off by two performers who seized the opportunity to set the bar for in-ring performances the rest of the night and did so to fantastic results.
