Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Idrissa Gueye and Jack Wilshere
According to the Daily Mirror, the Gunners are hoping to add more stability to their midfield and Gueye has been recognised as the ideal candidate for the job (via Louis Sealey of Metro).
The Senegal international only joined Everton last summer for a reported £9 million, but the way he's performed over the course of the campaign has seemingly done more than enough to gain the admiration of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger is said to be a big fan of the 27-year-old, who was once branded the "new N'Golo Kante" by Everton director of football Steve Walsh, per Fox Sports.
Walsh brought the now-Chelsea star to Leicester City ahead of their remarkable title-winning season before a move to Everton in July saw him snap up Gueye from Aston Villa.
In fact, despite Kante's brilliance this season, the Senegalese has him beaten in one particular department, having made more tackles than any other Premier League player in 2016-17, according to Sky Sports News HQ:
Gueye is under contract at Goodison Park until 2020, which means he'd likely cost Arsenal a pretty penny.
They're reportedly in good company chasing his signature too, with Manchester United, Sevilla, Valencia, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen all also in the hunt, according to Fox Sports.
Elsewhere, West Ham United are said to be eyeing up a move for Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere in the summer.
The Englishman has enjoyed a fine loan spell at Bournemouth this season, so much so that Justin Allen of The Sun reported that the Hammers are willing to spend up to £30 million to bring him to London Stadium.

Wilshere has one year left on his Arsenal contract, meaning a summer sale could be the only way the Gunners can cash in. Allen wrote that Wenger has offered the 25-year-old a new deal but that nothing is over the line just yet.
Wenger's future at the Emirates Stadium is still up in the air, with his contract set to expire in June, but if he does stay in charge, he needs to invest heavily in his squad to make Arsenal title candidates once again.
Even the customary top-four finish looks like slipping through the Gunners' fingers this term, which could bring about a change in the hot seat.
