WWE's Most Controversial and Shocking Stories for the Week of March 30
WrestleMania is this Sunday, and WWE is headed into Orlando with a series of issues, stories, controversies and questions. Like who is going to close the show? What is the WrestleMania set going to look like? And who is going to be relegated to pre-show duty?
WrestleMania Pre-Show Blues
One of the tougher aspects of WrestleMania season is when WWE puts the card together in a process that sees a handful of matches get banished to the pre-show. This year is no different, as the WrestleMania kickoff shows will feature a Six-Pack challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship, Austin Aries vs. Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Being featured on the pre-show is seen as a slight compared to competing at the actual event, and many fans have taken to Twitter to express disappointment for their favorite wrestlers working the preliminary showcase. WrestleMania 33 is a stacked card that features everyone from Goldberg to Brock Lesnar to The Undertaker. From a star-power standpoint, if there were three matches that deserve to be on the pre-show, unfortunately WWE made the right choice.
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg vs. Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns
Many are assuming that Brock Lesnar and Goldberg will close WrestleMania, but this is WWE where fans are constantly seeking something to turn on. There are rumbles of Lesnar vs. Goldberg being yet another brief match, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), and if this is the case, WrestleMania could end on the same note as Royal Rumble in 2015.
Undertaker and Reigns very well may be the most important match on the card in terms of long-term ramifications, and given how beloved The Undertaker is compared to the polarizing nature of Reigns, this match is a near-lock to have the most fan engagement. Despite being in a WWE Championship match, in an interview with Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of Yahoo Sports, Randy Orton feels Reigns and Undertaker should close the show.
Said Orton, "Taker is going to face Roman Reigns and that’s going to be a good one. I honestly believe that should be the last match on the card."
Many seem to agree.
WrestleMania Thrill Ride Personified
Fans have been buzzing over the elaborate set design of WrestleMania 33, which figures to be among the most dazzling ever. Reports of WWE constructing a roller coaster has inspired surveillance photos and videos from fans on Twitter, who have posted aerial views and pictures from all angles of what could be the best set ever.
It'll be interesting to see if WWE's roller coaster is simply a design of the tracks or an actual, functional roller coaster similar to the one outside of the New York New York hotel in Las Vegas. Even if it's something in between, hopefully the constant sound of wheels to tracks doesn't become a source of annoyance in what could be a six-hour show. The smart money is on The New Day entering Camping World Stadium in the roller coaster and/or a Shane McMahon stunt involving WWE's massive theme park-inspired structure.
The Miz Skewers John Cena on SmackDown Live, Cena Responds
The Miz and Maryse have become the breakout stars of WrestleMania season with a series of Total Bellas parodies that were hilarious even beyond the comparatively low pro wrestling curve. The pair went after everything from Cena's house rules to his seemingly prolonged engagement with Nikki Bella. Miz finally got serious in the end, with a scathing promo against Cena that inspired a serious response from the 16-time world champion this past Tuesday.
Cena and Nikki Bella taking these parodies seriously have been the key to making this rivalry work as a whole. After initial backlash upon the announcement of this match, there is nothing from the SmackDown roster that has me anywhere near as excited as I am for Total Mania.
All Red Exiting
After showing promise as a potentially elite heel, with her mere presence evoking sour memories of the girl you couldn't get in high school, it appears Eva Marie is done with WWE, according to an exclusive report from Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.
Shortly after the WWE draft, Eva Marie was featured on SmackDown Live in several entertaining segments that saw her in-ring debut delayed. After a violating WWE's wellness policy, Eva Marie was pulled from television and did not reappear even after her 30-day suspension was up.
Never one to miss out on a petty potshot, WWE seemed to diss All Red Everything in a segment between Mick Foley and Sami Zayn. If this is the last we've seen of Eva Marie, her career can certainly be chalked up in the "massive waste of potential" category.
