Wesley Woodyard, Tennessee Titans Reportedly Agree to 2-Year Contract Extension
The Tennessee Titans have reportedly locked up a key member of the defense by signing linebacker Wesley Woodyard through 2019, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
Field Yates of ESPN broke down the two-year extension, which could be worth up to $12.75 million total. Woodyard lost guaranteed money, dropping his base salary from $4.25 million to $2.2 million, but will have an opportunity for more in roster bonuses each game.
Woodyard appeared in all 16 games this past season, finishing fourth on the team with 57 tackles.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 30-year-old spent the first six years of his career with the Denver Broncos after signing as an undrafted free agent. His best performance came in 2012 when he totaled 117 tackles, 5.5 sacks and three interceptions.
He eventually moved to the Titans in 2014 and has played in all 48 games over the past three years. Unfortunately, he has seen a reduced role recently and only started 10 games in 2016.
The emergence of Avery Williamson and Sean Spence created more options in the middle of the Tennessee defense.
While there was some discussion about adding New England Patriots star Dont'a Hightower, he never visited the team and eventually re-signed with the defending Super Bowl champions, per ESPN.
The Titans will now keep Woodyard around for depth and leadership, while also maintaining roster flexibility in the future with the latest deal.
