Cowboys Rumors: DeMarcus Ware Reportedly Seeking Free-Agent Contract from Dallas
After spending the past three seasons with the Denver Broncos, veteran pass-rusher DeMarcus Ware reportedly hopes to return to the Dallas Cowboys.
According to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram, the nine-time Pro Bowler isn't ruling out re-signing with the Broncos, but his representatives may begin informal talks with the Cowboys at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Ware has missed a combined 11 games over the past two campaigns due to injury. He appeared in just 10 contests in 2016 while battling through arm and back ailments.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 34-year-old underwent surgery in December to repair a ruptured disc in his back.
Despite his struggles to remain healthy in recent years, Ware continues to produce when he is on the field.
The former Cowboys first-round pick out of Troy had four sacks last season in just eight starts and registered a total of 17.5 sacks in his first two seasons with the Broncos.
Ware was especially dominant during Denver's Super Bowl run following the 2015 regular season, as he had 3.5 sacks in three playoff games and helped the Broncos win a championship.
From a statistical standpoint, Ware's nine-year stint with the Cowboys was the pinnacle of his career, as he reached double digits in sacks on seven occasions.
Ware has 138.5 career sacks to his credit, which ranks eighth all-time and second among active players behind only Julius Peppers.
While Dallas won the NFC East in 2016 and was the No. 1 seed in the conference, it was near the middle of the pack defensively with 36 sacks, which ranked 13th.
Benson Mayowa led the Cowboys in sacks last season with only six, a mark Ware has failed to reach just once during his career.
Injuries and age are a concern for Ware, but with no dominant pass-rusher on the Dallas roster, signing him would be a worthwhile gamble for a team with plenty of question marks on defense.
