Robert Kraft Discusses NFL's Custom-Cleats Stance While Going Sneaker Shopping
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft shared his passion for footwear on "Sneaker Shopping" with Complex's Joe La Puma.
He made his appreciation for sneakers known last year when he showed up to the White House wearing Nike Air Force 1s. As former Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo told La Puma, President Barack Obama saw the kicks and said Kraft "must be the coolest owner in sports."
Despite touting his love for sneakers, Kraft simultaneously supported the NFL stance's against players wearing custom cleats. He cited the league's sponsors and revenue sharing but also noted that it should consider case-by-case circumstances:

"So if we let people start going off on their own, generating revenue and selling things, then the weaker teams are going to get hurt. So actually, I do support the league and what they do. Maybe there should be better judgement certain times.
"
One would think someone who likes sneakers as much as Kraft would back players who want to show the same admiration, but he had no interest in defying the league on this matter.
