In July the Blaugrana announced an extended contract for the Brazilian forward and explained that his release clause was fixed at €200 million (£181.1 million) for the first year of the deal, a figure that will rise to €222 million (£200.9 million) for the second and €250 million (£226.2 million) for the remaining three years.
However, per ESPN.co.uk's Samuel Marsden, Neymar never put pen to paper on the new terms, a situation that will be rectified on Friday.
It will come as a relief to all involved with Barca, as the 24-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from the Camp Nou, most significantly to Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, per Mundo Deportivo (via MailOnline's Phil Costa).

Neymar is one of the club's most important players, and he has formed arguably the world's most dangerous attacking trio at the club with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Since his move to Barca from Santos in 2013, Neymar has won two La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League.
He has improved dramatically while at Barca, and his La Liga statistics for the club are phenomenal, per Squawka:
According to Marsden, citing reports in Spain, Neymar's new net salary will be €15 million (£13.6 million) per year, less than the earnings of Messi and Real superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, he has clearly agreed to finally put pen to paper on the new terms and will now be able to focus solely on helping Barca to a Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble in 2016-17.
