WWE Survivor Series 2016: Superstars Who Deserve Biggest Pushes Ahead of PPV
Survivor Series has always been a pay-per-view tailor-made for creating stars due to the impact of the traditional five-on-five elimination matches. Ten wrestlers fight in matches that often last 20 minutes or more, allowing several performers to make massive impacts.
For the 2016 edition set for Nov. 20, WWE has already announced three separate traditional elimination matches that will pit Monday Night Raw against SmackDown Live. There will be battles between the best men, women and tag teams on each roster, which means 40 wrestlers will be in the mix in long matches.
Right now, there are just not enough top stars in any of the divisions to make up three complete, compelling contests at Survivor Series, so WWE must dive into the well and begin building up a variety of talent to be ready for a new spotlight.
In order for these matches to succeed, many new wrestlers will need to take the reins and make major impacts in their divisions on the way to Survivor Series. If the right performers are placed in those spots to succeed, future stars on both rosters can establish themselves.
The following are six wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown who deserve the necessary big pushes that will come with the opportunities of Survivor Series 2016.
Breezango
1 of 6SmackDown Live's tag team division lacks the depth of Raw's, as it features many teams that have less experience and exposure. In the early months of the brand split, SmackDown has created the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno and has relied on its top two teams heavily, turning The Usos heel to feud with American Alpha.
If SmackDown wants to keep its tag team division rolling though, it must establish lasting teams who can compete for the tag team championships. While The Hype Bros have been given some recognition and The Vaudevillains and Ascension have been regularly used, the team that has been off TV lately has the highest potential.
Tyler Breeze and Fandango are two wrestlers who have put on great performances and gotten over almost in spite of WWE thanks to their charisma and ability. Together they make for a compelling pairing of egotistical snobs who are also good in-ring workers.
Somehow, Breezango is lost in the SmackDown tag team shuffle without explanation. Instead of working SmackDown as potential rivals to the tag team champions, they have been working Main Event and doing 10-second backstage segments.
At this point, a major push for Breezango would just to get on TV, but it deserves more than that. With Survivor Series needing the best teams from every brand to compete, Breezango should be reintroduced to SmackDown Live quickly.
Enzo and Big Cass

Success in WWE is often driven by crowd reaction. Even the best performer in the world in the ring or on the mic won't get anywhere without capturing the attention of the crowd. For this reason, the performers who create the most fan excitement are often also the top stars.
When considering the most over performers in WWE, many main eventers come to mind. However, there is one duo that cannot be ignored despite limited exposure to this point. Enzo and Big Cass are the most popular duo in all of WWE, and the race isn't close.
Very few wrestlers are born with the natural charisma that oozes from Enzo, and Cass has the type of presence as a big man that will likely make him a top performer down the road. Together, this team has all the makings of one that should be dominating WWE.
Instead, Enzo and Cass have been fairly marginalized lately, missing out on Clash of Champions entirely last month. While The New Day has had a good run with the tag team championships and has grown in popularity, fans will likely be rooting for Enzo and Cass on the Raw side at Survivor Series.
In order to capitalize on Enzo and Big Cass's popularity, it is time for WWE to start using the duo as the top team on the brand, as it is among fans.
Nia Jax

Raw's women's division has been dominated by a few women. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke and Bayley have been the absolute focus for a long time. This makes sense, given the talent of those women and their position in the stories being told.
However, this is not sustainable. Charlotte and Banks have already battled so many times that the Hell in a Cell match between the two should be their final clash for a while. If WWE does much more with just that pairing, the matchup will begin to grow stale.
Nia Jax is a name that has slipped into the background lately, but she is absolutely ready to be the next woman up in the division. Survivor Series often allows stronger power wrestlers to show off their dominance, and Jax could thrive in that capacity.
Placing the undefeated Jax in the mix with the other top women makes too much sense, but it will take another step by Raw to let its most physically imposing woman become a major spotlight for the division.
If she is properly built up toward Survivor Series, Jax could go on a tear and eliminate three or more women in the elimination match to set her up as Banks' next challenger.
Naomi

While Raw has struggled to balance out its roster, SmackDown has tried too hard to highlight its whole roster each week, not allowing individual performers the time they need to stand out.
While Becky Lynch has thrived and the rivalry between Nikki Bella and Carmella has gotten them both recognition, the rest of the women have struggled.
Naomi is a veteran who has long waited for a real opportunity in WWE. Her pure athleticism has made her popular, but she started out sloppy and lacking in character. Now she finally seems to be clicking with a larger opportunity on SmackDown. She just needs a spotlight.
She gained some quick recognition during her mini-feud against Alexa Bliss while Lynch was injured, but the real important thing Naomi needs are character moments. Naomi's "glow" gimmick has come off as corny and generic but could be promising if developed.
If Naomi gets a chance to talk up who she is and what she believes as a character, she could become a fan favorite, helping establish herself in the women's division for SmackDown ahead of Survivor Series and raising the excitement for the Survivor Series clash.
Baron Corbin
5 of 6Many have lamented the lack of star power on SmackDown Live. While AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt make up a solid base, the drop-off after those performers is significant. SmackDown needs its younger stars to rise up.
If anyone is ready for the next step, it is Baron Corbin, who continues to improve with each passing week. Now that he understands much better how to push the pace of his matches with his bruising style and continues to cut solid, snarky promos, he is just waiting for a real opportunity to present itself.
Corbin could be the star of the Raw vs. SmackDown elimination match if properly built up beforehand. This is a young star in the making who has been weirdly underrepresented.
He has seemingly had three feuds so far on SmackDown against Kalisto, Apollo Crews and Jack Swagger, but none have been well-developed.
It is time to start regularly featuring Corbin, allowing him both in-ring and mic time on the show heading into Survivor Series. Missing this chance to build up Corbin could be a huge mistake that affects SmackDown's future as a whole.
Sami Zayn
6 of 6
There is no reason Sami Zayn should be in need of a push in WWE. After his excellent feud with Kevin Owens, Zayn should have been a man on the rise, perhaps even challenging the universal champion given Finn Balor's injury and Owens' rise to prominence.
Despite holes left near the top of Raw's roster, Zayn disappeared post-Battleground and has seemed like a man without direction for a while. While WWE clearly values his in-ring ability and has put him up against top talent often, it does not seem to have the same confidence in his potential as a star.
With Zayn beginning a feud against Braun Strowman this past week, it is possible he'll focus on that, but there is no reason both wrestlers could not factor significantly into Survivor Series.
Underdog stories are always top-notch, particularly in elimination matches where the odds can be entirely stacked against a wrestler. Zayn always thrives in that underdog role and could be the quintessential piece of the Raw-SmackDown match, helping to rally Raw back if the numbers game falls out of its hands.
Zayn is such an excellent performer—one of the best of all wrestlers in 2016—and is desperately in need of the push to stardom that he deserved months ago.
