Josh Rosen Injury: Updates on UCLA QB's Shoulder and Return
UCLA Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen is dealing with a shoulder issue that could sideline him for a considerable amount of time.

Latest on Rosen's Status
Tuesday, Oct. 25
UCLA head coach Jim Mora told the media, via Chase Goodbread of NFL.com on Monday, that Rosen is suffering from a nerve issue in his throwing shoulder and is out indefinitely:
"The nerve has to start firing again. Once it starts firing again, he should be fine. It's just a matter of when is it going to start firing again? He's getting all the treatment he can get. He's doing everything he can do. Our doctors are as good as they get. He's got a dad at home who's a doctor, so he's surrounded by good people. It's just a matter of his arm starting to fire. He's been trying to throw, and it just hasn't gotten to the point where he can cut it loose yet.
"
This is not the first setback for Rosen this season, as he suffered a wrist injury against Arizona State on Oct. 8.
He arrived on campus as a 5-star recruit, per Scout.com, and threw for 3,670 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last year as a freshman. He led his team to an 8-4 regular season and Foster Farms Bowl appearance, where the Bruins lost to Nebraska.
While the high interception total was a concern, UCLA had great expectations for Rosen this year with so much natural talent and a season of experience under his belt. Those quickly faded when the Bruins started 3-3 and lost two of their first three Pac-12 games. Rosen has missed the last two games, both UCLA losses.
In all, he has passed for 1,915 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions.
While Rosen hasn’t developed into the Heisman Trophy contender UCLA fans were hoping for, he still gives the Bruins the best chance to win.
Look for UCLA to turn toward Mike Fafaul if Rosen is forced to miss more time. In four appearances this season, he's put up 779 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. On Oct. 22 against Utah, he attempted 70 passes, completing 40 of them with five touchdowns and four interceptions in a 52-45 loss.
Fafaul doesn’t have the same playmaking abilities that Rosen does, but he is a senior and can provide veteran leadership inside the huddle.
