Manchester United Transfer News: Memphis Depay Talks Amid Latest Exit Rumours
Memphis Depay has hinted he could look for a move away from Manchester United if he continues to play only a bit-part role under manager Jose Mourinho.
After a poor debut season at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16 following his high-profile move from PSV Eindhoven, Dutchman Memphis has seen only 12 minutes of Premier League action in the new term, per WhoScored.com.
The 22-year-old praised the impact Mourinho has had since his summer arrival and said he is keen to fight for his place, but he also indicated he could leave the club if he can't force his way into the first team, per the Mirror's Liam Prenderville:

"I am the same person and I know what I want. A supporting role is not for me. I'm not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United. This is my dream club, but I want to play.
The training sessions are going well, I'm sharp and fit, but that applies to everyone. The level has become higher. Jose Mourinho is a top coach.
Mourinho has expressed his confidence in me. Personally, but also in the press. I feel like a loaded gun but I have to wait for my chance in the first team. I am at my dream club and I want to fight for my place.

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Memphis, potentially on loan in January ahead of a £24 million deal next summer, per Calciomercato (via the Sun's Matt Heath-Smith).
That would be an attractive offer for United, as winger Memphis is such a long way down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Following much hype upon his arrival at United after a 22-goal Eredivisie season for PSV, Memphis flopped last term, showing only the occasional glimpse of his best form, per Bleacher Report's Dean Jones:
Though he has only been given limited chances in 2016-17—he started United's EFL Cup clash with Northampton Town—he has still failed to make a case for anything more than a limited role, per the Manchester Evening News' Samuel Luckhurst.
The competition for a starting spot on Memphis' favoured left flank is fierce.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been preferred so far this season in the position, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Ashley Young can all operate there as well.
Given that Mourinho historically prefers a smaller squad, the loss of Memphis would hardly register given the depth United currently boast on the flanks.
If Milan are prepared to offer even anywhere close to £24 million, and with Memphis clearly eager for more regular game time, January could well spell the end of the Netherlands international's failed career at United.
