Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Adrien Rabiot and Joel Campbell Rumours
Adrien Rabiot of Paris Saint-Germain has indicated that he would like to play in the Premier League, opening up a potential move to Arsenal.
The cultured central midfielder told French outlet Telefoot (h/t James Whaling of the Mirror) he would like to return to England after featuring for Manchester City's youth team in 2008. The 21-year-old became a professional at PSG but appears to be keen on a switch back to English football.
"I really liked my time in England and the life there, even outside of football," he said, per Whaling. "I told myself that I will return one day I have always had the desire to play in England, it is in me. The Premier League – that is football." Whaling added, "Arsenal have been linked with a move for Rabiot in the last two transfer windows but have so far failed to secure his services."

Here is the central talent in action:
The France under-21 player has struggled to be an automatic pick in the starting XI in Paris but featured in 31 matches in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions league last term, according to WhoScored.com. Rabiot has the diversity to supply the forward line with his craft but also has solid defensive sense to play deeper in the park.
The youngster is a burgeoning talent and is only now discovering the depths of his myriad qualities.
However, freelance football writer Andrew Gibney noted that the player has the tendency to be too conservative in the centre of the pitch:
In other news, Joel Campbell has spoken out after being placed on loan once again, removing his opportunity to impress in an Arsenal shirt.
Alex Richards of the Mirror quoted the forward speaking about a fifth loan spell away from the Emirates Stadium after he temporarily joined Sporting Lisbon:
"I am at an important step in my career. [But] there would not have been many chances to play at Arsenal.
I could have chosen to stay, to have a good salary.
I think I deserved to play more after what I did last year, but now this is a new stage.
I want to continue to develop. Sporting are a good opportunity for me and a great team. I am happy with the decision I made.
"

The 24-year-old featured in 31 games in all competitions for the Gunners last term, according to Richards, and impressed supporters with his improvement and work rate.
Campbell surprised pundits last year, but in an Arsenal midfield occupied by world-class players, his playing time would have been limited to cameos.
Rabiot is the type of midfielder Arsene Wenger wants at his disposal, especially as he considers the long-term futures of Campbell and Jack Wilshere.
The French player is ready to test himself at a higher level than Ligue 1 and has the ability to be a huge success in the environment of English football.
