Copa America 2016 Bracket: Odds, TV Schedule and Live Stream for Semi-Finals
Chile made an emphatic statement in the fourth quarter-final match of the 2016 Copa America on Saturday by thrashing Mexico 7-0 to fill the last semi-final spot at the United States tournament.
The defending champions looked fallible in the group stages but were masterful as they blew away El Tri, and Chile now face Colombia on Wednesday in the last four after Los Cafeteros edged a penalty shootout, 4-2, in their quarter-final with Peru on Friday.
The other semi-final sees Argentina—the tournament favourites—take on the USA at NRG Stadium in Houston on Tuesday. Lionel Messi's side saw off Venezuela 4-1 in the quarters, while the hosts got past Ecuador with a 2-1 win last Thursday.

Stage Set for Repeat of 2015 Final

As far as the odds are concerned, the final of 2016's Copa America Centenario will most likely include the same sides that fought in last year's final: Chile and Argentina.
Given the relative form and quality of the four remaining sides, only a brave punter would bet against Chile and Argentina advancing from their respective semi-finals.
The Chileans finally showed their best against Mexico in a stunning performance that saw Eduardo Vargas net four times, Edson Puch score a double and Alexis Sanchez find his third goal of the tournament.
Though Sanchez is the attacking talisman of the Chile side, Hoffenheim's Vargas could be the key man against Colombia given the goalscoring form he is in, per the Bundesliga:
With Chile having scored four times against Panama in their final group-stage win—Sanchez and Vargas netting two each—there is little wrong with La Roja's attack at the moment, and Colombia will have to find a way to stop them.
Meanwhile, they will also need to rediscover their own scoring form at Chicago's Soldier Field on Wednesday, having played out a 0-0 draw with Peru before advancing on penalties in the last eight—the Copa only uses extra time for the final.
It was a hard-fought but uninspiring match, and Colombia had to rely on goalkeeper David Ospina to advance to the last four, via SB Nation Soccer and Fox Soccer:
Manager Jose Pekerman said after the defeat of Peru that his side "know that we can do better," and they will need to be much improved to see off in-form Chile and make their first Copa final since 2001, per the Associated Press (via the Guardian).
Argentina would relish the opportunity to take on Chile again in the final and avenge their shootout defeat last year.
But manager Gerardo Martino's side will likely be unconcerned just yet about the team they meet in the final and more focused on getting past a plucky U.S. side on their home turf.
The current crop of Argentinian players are immensely talented—the likes of Javier Mascherano, Angel Di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero join Messi—but they have never won any major silverware.
This year, however, could finally be their time. Argentina have cruised so far in the 2016 Copa, winning all four of their games and scoring 14 goals while conceding just two.
Meanwhile, the USA have scrapped impressively to make it to the last four but do not have the quality of the Argentinian squad.
They edged a nail-biter against Ecuador in the last eight, veteran Clint Dempsey once again proving crucial as he scored the U.S. men's national soccer team's opener—his third goal of the tournament, via Major League Soccer:
Home advantage should give the U.S. some confidence at Texas' NRG Stadium, but Argentina have been near faultless so far in the tournament and will surely make the final barring a huge drop-off in form.
They could then set up a repeat of last year's final or face No. 3 FIFA-ranked Colombia, but it won't matter to Argentina who they face in the last two so long as they earn the opportunity to finally make good on their immense promise and win a major trophy.
