Brand Split, Cody Rhodes Released and Top WWE News from Week of May 28
It has been a crazy week for the WWE Universe. WWE made a huge announcement Wednesday that will change the company in a big way, and it has fans arguing about whether it's the right move.
Let's take a look at the biggest WWE stories from the past week.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Ever since Shane McMahon returned, rumors of a brand split have been circulating on social media, and it looks like we finally have our answer.
Shane and Stephanie McMahon appeared on WWE.com to make the special announcement, but many details are still being kept under wraps.
We know Raw and SmackDown will hold a draft to determine which Superstars end up on each show. What we don't know is what happens to the current champions.
Odds are good the Intercontinental and United States Championships will end up on different programs, but the WWE Women's, Tag Team and World Heavyweight Championships create some issues.
Does WWE create separate titles for each brand? Do the champions float from show to show? Does one show get the tag team division, and the other gets the women?
Hopefully, we get some answers Monday during Raw, where this story is sure to be a big topic of conversation.
SmackDown Going Live
The other part of Shane and Stephanie's announcement was about SmackDown. Starting July 19, the blue brand will air live on Tuesday nights.
This is huge for WWE's perceived B-show. With the exception of the occasional special episode, SmackDown has always been prerecorded, and a big problem has always been spoilers leaking online.
Some fans will scan the results for a show and decide it's not worth watching, but if it happens live, some of those people will be more inclined to tune in.
This also means that, on pay-per-view weekends, we will have three straight nights with a combined 10 hours of original programming. It might be too much for some fans.
Eden and Cody Rhodes Leave WWE
The past few weeks have seen some shocking releases come from WWE, but the two talents who have left by their own choice might be the biggest losses of all.
Cody Rhodes requested his release, and WWE granted it. Eden, who is married to Rhodes in real life, left the company a few days later.
According to Rhodes, he had been frustrated with not being allowed to drop the Stardust gimmick, but it's just one of the reasons he is looking to start fresh.
Rhodes has been on the road with WWE for nearly 10 years. He might be looking to start a family, and traveling at least five days a week isn't an ideal situation to raise a child.
It will be interesting to see where Rhodes goes from here. He is an outstanding wrestler with a lot of name recognition. He could have a great career in a smaller promotion like Ring of Honor or Lucha Underground, or he could take his talents to Japan.
Whatever he ends up doing, let's hope he finds a company with a TV deal so we can keep seeing him do what he is so good at. It's too bad that a Stardust vs. Stephen Amell rematch is out of the question.
Money in the Bank Card Taking Shape
As seen on Raw and SmackDown, several Superstars have already qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match, and Shane McMahon announced the main event.
Roman Reigns will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the returning Seth Rollins in what is sure to be an outstanding contest.
As far as the Money in the Bank match is concerned, Alberto Del Rio, Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Chris Jericho have all earned spots, with a final participant to be decided this week.
With John Cena's return being advertised for Memorial Day every time WWE takes a commercial break, there is a good chance he will claim the final entry.
Who do you think will walk out of Money in the Bank with a title shot at the time and place of his choosing?
