NBA Betting Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors Game 6 Odds
The home team has won and covered the spread in every game of the 2016 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. The Toronto Raptors hope to extend that trend and stay alive in the series with a victory in Game 6 on Friday as 6.5-point betting underdogs versus the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
Toronto has won the past four meetings between the teams at the Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors knew going into the series that they would have to win at least one game in Cleveland in order to advance to their first-ever NBA Finals, but visiting Quicken Loans Arena has turned out to be a recurring nightmare so far.
The Cavs have won all three home games by an average of 29.3 points, easily covering as double-digit favorites each time. They are coming off a 116-78 rout of Toronto in Game 5, which topped their previous record set in Game 1 for biggest margin of victory in team playoff history.
Fortunately for the Raptors, they have been able to rebound with two home wins of their own and four overall, including the two regular-season meetings as hosts. They have been able to hold Cleveland’s Kevin Love in check in Toronto, which is something that will need to continue in Game 6 of the series if they are going to force a Game 7 on Sunday.
Love had his best performance of the postseason in Game 5, as he scored a team-high 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting in just 24 minutes. He totaled 13 points on 5-of-23 shooting combined in the two games at Toronto, where the Cavs have also gone 0-4 against the spread in their last four visits, according to the Odds Shark NBA Database.
Toronto’s All-Star backcourt of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan has also performed much better at home and will need to come through big in this spot to avoid elimination.
Lowry and DeRozan totaled 27 points on 7-of-20 shooting between them in Game 5 after they each scored more than 30 and made 14 shot attempts apiece in Game 4. Center Bismack Biyombo has been a different player at the Air Canada Centre as well, averaging 20 rebounds and 3.5 blocks at home compared to 13 rebounds and three blocks total on the road.
