Green Records 2nd NBA Playoffs Triple-Double of Career
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in Sunday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Portland Trail Blazers, joining Tom Gola (three) as the only players in franchise history with multiple triple-doubles in their playoff careers, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).
Green was quite efficient in Golden State's casual 118-106 victory, making six of his 14 field-goal attempts, two of his five three-point tries and all nine of his free throws.
In addition to the triple-double numbers, he rounded out his stat line with a steal and three blocks, also committing only two turnovers.
Still, Green was arguably overshadowed by Warriors guard Klay Thompson, who scored a game-high 37 points while becoming the first player in NBA history to make seven or more three-pointers in three consecutive playoff games.
Of course, Green surely doesn't mind sharing the spotlight, having grown used to the feeling while playing alongside Thompson and fellow guard Stephen Curry the past few years.
Dangerous even without their MVP sharpshooter, the Warriors hope to return to full strength by the end of the ongoing series, with Curry suggesting in a sideline interview with ESPN's Lisa Salters that he could be back for Game 3.
Interestingly enough, Green's only other triple-double in the playoffs occurred during the clinching Game 6 of last season's NBA Finals, with the big fellow recording 16 points, 11 boards and 10 assists in a 105-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
