WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for April 7
Fresh off his victory in Monday's No. 1 Contender's match, AJ Styles rolled into Houston for this week's WWE SmackDown tapings, and thanks to PWTorch.com, we have all the spoilers and match results for this week's USA Network broadcast.
Zack Ryder saw his WrestleMania moment turn into a living nightmare on Raw when he lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to The Miz, courtesy of the returning Maryse's distraction. Tuesday night, Long Island Iced Z had his shot at redemption—a rematch booked against the Hollywood A-Lister.
Would he avenge Monday's heartbreaker, or would Maryse have her husband's back one more time, dooming Ryder's shot at redemption to failure?

The Vaudevillains made their WWE debut, bringing their acclaimed stint on NXT to a close. Which tag team would provide them competition and, thus, try to spoil their evening?
Fans inside the Toyota Center know the answers to those questions.
Now you can too.

Results
- Roman Reigns kicked off the show, reiterating he is neither good nor bad, just the guy. AJ Styles interrupted, and there was a show of respect between the two. The new WWE world heavyweight champion told The Phenomenal One he will never take the title.
- The Vaudevillains defeated United States champion Kalisto and Sin Cara.
- Natalya defeated Summer Rae with a Sharpshooter. Charlotte sat in on commentary and had a brief post-match staredown.
- Intercontinental champion The Miz defeated Zack Ryder to retain the title after Maryse interfered, exposing a turnbuckle.
- Apollo Crews defeated Curtis Axel.
- Backstage, The Dudley Boyz called out Roman Reigns.
- In another backstage promo, Baron Corbin expressed his desire for a rematch with Dolph Ziggler.
- Dean Ambrose defeated Tyler Breeze. After the match, Chris Jericho entered for the main event. He and Ambrose exchanged a glare, hinting at an impending feud.
- AJ Styles and Cesaro defeated Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens when Sami Zayn interfered.
- After the match, Owens and Zayn brawled, with the former getting the best of the latter. Back in the ring, The Dudley Boyz attacked Styles, only for Reigns to make the save. The babyfaces hesitantly shook hands to end the show.

Analysis
The dynamic between Reigns and Styles is interesting in that the casual fans and kids in the audience are solidly behind the former, regardless of the male boos that drown out their cheers, while Styles is the favorite of the more diehard members of WWE's fanbase.
The slow build throughout the night should benefit the feud more than if WWE Creative had booked the Superstars to unleash hell on each other right away.
Why there is a need to continue the nonsense involving Reigns' side feud with The Dudleys is a question that has never really been answered, but if that attack actually makes the air and was not simply part of the dark festivities, it does set up a huge tag team match, possibly at Raw on Monday.
The NXT takeover of WWE continued with the arrival of The Vaudevillains, another solid win for Crews and Corbin's backstage appearance. It has been a whirlwind few days for the brand, with some of its most recognizable stars getting the long-awaited call-up to the bright lights and big stage of Raw and SmackDown. If they continue the hard work, it will take but a minute for them to show the casual audience why they are among the industry's most buzzed-about stars.
Maryse's interference in the intercontinental title match continues her return to television and adds heat to The Miz's title reign. After such a feel-good moment at WrestleMania, one can only hope Ryder remains engaged in a feud with the champion, perhaps leading to a pay-per-view showdown and the moment he overcomes the former Divas champion's interference to regain the title.
Finally, Natalya continued to build on her strong Monday night with a submission win over Summer Rae that means very little in the grand scheme of things, and a staredown with Charlotte seems to support the idea that The Queen of Harts is next in line for a shot at the WWE Women's Championship.
SmackDown has consistently been a much more focused and, simply put, superior show to Raw. That should not change Thursday night, with a strong tag team bout featuring the best wrestlers on the plant and a tease for a program between Jericho and Ambrose.
Add to that some new faces, another introduction and solid matches up and down the card and you have what, on paper, looks like a very solid episode of the USA Network program.
