Best Feuds and Predictions for Roman Reigns After WrestleMania 32

Aaron BowerApr 5, 2016

Roman Reigns' inevitable and ultimately disappointing victory at WWE WrestleMania 32 was offset by some intriguing booking the following night on Raw.

This wasn't necessarily a full-on heel turn by any stretch of the imagination on Monday night, but Reigns' entire character was one of a guy who is beginning to go through a transition in the way he acts.

It opens up plenty of possibilities for him in terms of both heel and babyface opponents for him in the coming months. Although he already has one feud locked in for the immediate term, let's also look a bit further down the track at who the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion could be facing off against.

Now AJ Styles is obviously in Reigns' immediate future, but you wonder how long that particular rivalry will last. Fans were beyond annoyed when Styles lost on his WrestleMania debut to Chris Jericho; so to that end, is he ready for the big prize yet?

His record throughout his career says he deserves a tilt at the world title but, in terms of his run with WWE, maybe this is just a temporary move to give Reigns' next foe a chance to prep himself properly.

The chances of Styles winning this match, which will probably take place at Payback, are slim, and it could even be a distraction or interference from someone like Finn Balor and his Balor Club that costs Styles when it matters.

So who else is potentially ready to face Reigns? Well, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn look certain to enter a feud of their own which rules them out, but if Reigns is gradually turning heel, WWE would be foolish to ignore the presence of Cesaro.

By the time Reigns gets out of this feud with Styles, he could be a fully fledged heel. Given how Cesaro's return confirmed him as arguably the most popular babyface WWE has, or at least one of the top few, why not give the Swiss Superman a shot at the belt?

Raw on Monday night felt like a strong platform for WWE to build from in the coming months, and giving guys like Cesaro a push would do wonders for the company's stock with fans, which is sitting tentatively after WrestleMania.

He's technically excellent, and he would produce some good work from Reigns in return. It's not even about polishing up his microphone skills either because WWE can have him say less and hit more, or it can just trust him with what he can do. It would be a sensational rivalry if the plan is for Reigns to go over as a heel.

However, irrespective of whether Reigns turns heel or not, there is the elephant in the room to consider: the return of Seth Rollins.

Rollins vs. Reigns for the title will be brilliant, but WWE has to be careful how it brings Seth back if they are keeping Roman babyface.

For instance, Seth coming out and taking down Reigns would do nothing but draw an almighty reaction from the crowd, which wouldn't be what WWE had in mind if it wanted to keep Rollins a heel and Reigns a babyface.

The smart thing to do is turn Reigns, allowing Seth to come back as a heel. But with all of their history with The Shield, The Authority thrown into the mix and the fact Rollins never actually lost the title, this would be one of the standout feuds of the year.

There is one final option though, too. What about Dean Ambrose? You really get the feeling that Brock Lesnar is done with Dean, and that leaves The Lunatic Fringe up in limbo.

You could even incorporate Dean into a feud with Reigns and Rollins, and then suddenly you have all three members of The Shield fighting for the company's big prize.

Now that would draw the fans in this summer.
