Danny Amendola, Patriots Agree to New Contract: Latest Comments and Reaction
The New England Patriots and wide receiver Danny Amendola reportedly agreed to a restructured contract on May 6, according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1. It's a two-year deal worth $7.35 million with $750,000 available in roster bonuses and incentives.
Ben Volin of the Boston Globe provided more details on Tuesday regarding Amendola's deal:

Garafolo also provided a statement from the wideout: "It's an honor to play for this franchise and with this group of guys. We have one goal—to win another championship and that's all we care about."
Amendola, 30, caught 65 passes for 648 yards and three touchdowns in 2015 and is projected to be the team's No. 2 receiver in 2016.
He would have counted $6.5 million against the cap, and the Patriots added Nate Washington and Chris Hogan this offseason to a talented group of players in the passing game, including tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett, running back Dion Lewis, and fellow wideout Julian Edelman.
That made Amendola expendable, but for the second straight season, he agreed to a restructured pact.
That should make Tom Brady happy, as he's developed a nice rapport with the wideout over the past three seasons. Amendola is a solid option as a slot receiver, and he has performed well as a return man and contributor on special teams. While he's had injury troubles in the past, he's missed just two games in the past two seasons.
Bringing him back in 2016 gives Brady a dangerous array of weapons and makes the Patriots a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses again next season.
