WWE Roadblock 2016: Match Card, Potential Spoilers, Predictions and More
WWE Roadblock 2016 comes your way Saturday from Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, and the company has one goal: set up WrestleMania 32.
April's Showcase of the Immortals is shaping up to be one of the largest in history, especially after a recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated at least 84,000 tickets had already been sold (via Arash Markazi of ESPN).
WWE is reaching for not only its all-time WrestleMania attendance record (93,173 at the Pontiac Silverdome for WrestleMania III) but also the 100,000 mark that Dallas can potentially deliver.

To do so, WWE needs Roadblock to be a great event. It's already got four major headline acts in the top two matches, including a lunatic, a beast, a king and a face of fear.
Time to look at the matchups, spoilers and predictions for Saturday's WWE Network special.
WWE Roadblock 2016 Match Card
WWE continues to play its cards close to its chest with regards to the lineup.
This much we know is true: There are four announced matches for the WWE Network special event, one that is scheduled to clock in at three hours, according to WWE Network's programming lineup.
The four matches are:
- Triple H vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
- Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt
- The New Day vs. Sheamus and King Barrett from The League of Nations (WWE Tag Team Championships)
- The Revival vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (NXT Tag Team Championships)
A rundown of additional Superstars planning to be in attendance could shine some light on how the remainder of the card fills out.
Both WWE Divas champion Charlotte and Natalya are scheduled to appear, per WWE.com, meaning they could be inserted into an impromptu match. In addition, Sami Zayn has been added to the card.
There are two potential outcomes with an extended run time and so few announced matches.
WWE could be waiting to surprise fans with unannounced Superstars or guests, making WWE Roadblock a truly special event.
Or the company might load this event with so many clips and promos it feels like an episode of Raw.
Potential Spoilers
Even with Zayn in Toronto, he won't be staring down his nemesis, Kevin Owens. Owens is scheduled to appear at a house show in Atlantic City, New Jersey. According to Boardwalk Hall's website, he is facing off against AJ Styles in a 30-minute Iron Man match for the Intercontinental Championship.
Zayn's appearance could still set up WrestleMania 32. Wrestling Inc. reported Owens will defend his title in a multi-man match in Dallas. With Owens and Styles doing battle in A.C. on Saturday, Zayn could stare down another opponent in such a match: Chris Jericho.
Jericho's battles with Styles have consumed the future Hall of Famer, and inserting him into the intercontinental title mix would be a smart move. Plus, Jericho's no stranger to helping along the main roster's new blood. Not only has he been involved with Styles in recent weeks, but Jericho fought Neville at WWE Beast in the East last July.
Doing battle against Zayn would surely be a crowd-pleaser, especially in Zayn's home country. It would also advance the multi-man angle for Owens' title at WrestleMania 32—a match that, if it were to include the four mentioned Superstars, would surely be the early favorite for Match of the Night honors.
In other news, Ambrose fans should also prepare themselves for the inevitable: The Lunatic Fringe won't be walking out of the Ricoh Coliseum with the world title. It was never on the cards, even early on, according to Meltzer (h/t Wrestling Inc.), who reported the original plan for WWE Roadblock called for Triple H to defend his title against both Ambrose and Brock Lesnar, with Ambrose eating the pin in that Triple Threat match.
That same report also mentioned "there are currently no plans for Ambrose to turn heel." That means WWE fans will see more Roman Reigns-Dean Ambrose team-ups and bromance in the post-WrestleMania future.
Fans in Toronto also shouldn't expect a lights-out moment from The Wyatt Family during Bray Wyatt's match with Brock Lesnar. According to PW Mania, Luke Harper will appear with Braun Strowman at the Atlantic City house show. Harper faced off against Lesnar in Montreal on Friday with Wyatt in his corner.
Quick Predictions
Triple H defeats Dean Ambrose cleanly to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Brock Lesnar easily defeats Bray Wyatt.
The New Day retains the tag team titles against The League of Nations.
The Revival once again gets the best of Enzo and Cass, remaining NXT tag champs.
Additional Predictions
Will Happen: Lesnar and Ambrose find each other and fight before the end of the special.
Won't Happen: Lesnar and Ambrose find their way into a Fatal Four-Way match with Triple H and Reigns at WrestleMania 32.
Enzo and Cass will be on the main roster before WrestleMania 32 and may even be part of the scramble for the tag team titles heading into Dallas. Jason Solomon of the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast has an interesting theory:
Charlotte and Natalya will have a match, which Charlotte will win easily. Their NXT TakeOver women's championship match from 2014 will be referenced at least eight times and is far superior to what will take place on Saturday night.
Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho have a run-in and throw some fists, but no official match will take place. That will set up something between the two on a forthcoming Raw or SmackDown.
