"Williams experienced discomfort and increased soreness in his left knee (chondromalacia) during and following the Cavaliers game in Indianapolis last Wednesday night. Williams Provides Cavaliers with Veteran Depth in Backcourt
Williams, 33, has given the Cavs 8.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game. He's provided valuable depth in the backcourt behind Kyrie Irving, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert and is still a valuable asset on offense.
Injuries have limited him in 2015-16, however, as he's dealt with thumb and knee injuries that have kept him off the court. And his role in Cleveland has somewhat diminished his statistical output after he posted double-digit points in every season since 2004-05 except for his 2013-14 season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
He returned to the Cavs over the summer as a free agent after spending time with Cleveland between 2008 and 2011.
